How Etained Works

Etained is a marketplace for creative entertainment services. It is essential that all user’s enjoy a “happy” experience when they visit the site, that is why we have put together these general guidelines. Please do become familiar with all of our guidelines.

Listing and Profile:

Do: We encourage Users to create listings and profiles that are honest, clear, and helpful to potential customer’s. You can use the “Description” and “Add Services” tabs to tell people about your services you provide.

Don’t: Do not create false listings and profiles that could potentially deceive customers — we will remove them if we see them.

 

Creating an account:

You need to create an account to be able list your services and to become a service provider on Etained. No

Note: You can start the ‘Promote Your Services’ process without having an account, but before you service can be listed, an account must be created.

To create an account:

  1. From the Etained home page, click Join.
  2. Enter your email address and click CONTINUE.
  3. Note: You can also join with Facebook and Google.
  4. Choose a username, password and then click JOIN.
  5. Note: Your username can be changed once you’ve activated your account.
  6. You are now a registered user on Etained, but you will need to activate your account. An email is sent to the email address you registered with. ??
  7. Within the email you receive from Etained, click ACTIVATE YOUR ACCOUNT.
  8. After your account is active, you can create a profile and start promoting your services.

 

Resetting your password:

It is recommended that you change your password every three months.

To reset your password:

  1. Once logged in, click My Details from profile drop down menu.
  2. In the My Details section, click change password.
  3. Enter your current password, and then enter your new password and confirm it.
  4. Click SAVE CHANGES.
  5. Note: Your password must contain at least eight characters, one uppercase letter, and one number.

 

A strong password:

  • Does not contain your username, real name, or company name.
  • Should contain a capital letter and a number.
  • Is significantly different from previous passwords.

 

Forgot password:

On the Login screen, click forgot password and follow the steps to retrieve a new password.

 

Dashboard:

Once logged in, you can access the user dashboard.

 

My Detail:

Allows you to update your profile details such as username, password, contact details, profile picture and deactivate your account.

Manage my service:

User’s can promote, edit, upgrade and delete their services on this page.

Messages:

User’s can view all their current and previous chats. They can also delete chats on this page.

Reviews:

This is where user’s can see any reviews left on the their services.

Saved Lists:

This is where user’s can view any saved services they saved while searching listings.

 

Deactivate:

  1. Once logged in, click My Details from profile drop down menu.
  2. In the My Details section, click deactivate.

Promote your service:

By clicking ‘promote your service’ this allows you to list your business or service. This is an opportunity to show off your services and provide customers with all necessary information to help them decide whether they would like to contact with you.

  • When promoting your service make sure you enter information that will represent your business and the scope of services you deliver in a clear and accurate way.
  • When building the description of your service you should include business history, about your business, website (if applicable) and phone number (if you would like to receive phone calls).
  • Be clear about your description and the service you provide.
  • List your services with a clear and precise title.
  • Add do’s and don’ts to your Gig Description to help avoid misunderstanding.
  • Add tags that are a clear representation of your business or services.
  • Be sure to only use images and other portfolio items that you created or which you have full copyright to.

 

To create a listing page:

  1. Whether signed in or off, click on ‘Promote my service’
  • Note: If you are not signed in and you click ‘Promote my service’ it will allow you to create your service listing but prompt you to create a user account before your listing is active.

 

STEP 1: Overview

  1. Select the nature of your business, whether you are a freelancer or a business.
  2. Business/ freelancer name: Name business is referred to as.
  3. Select a category: Allow a user to select from one of our 5 main categories

Note: If your category does not exist please email for us to hopefully update at a later time.

  1. Select a subcategory: Once you select a main category it will allow you to select subcategories.

Note: If your sub-category does not exist, you can select other until subcategories are update at a later time.

  1. Enter Location: You may want to enter town instead of specific postcode.

 

STEP 2: Service

  1. Description: In the Description field, write a description of your service up to 1,200 characters. Minimum 10 words must be entered. Be as detailed as possible so customers will be able to understand if this service meets their needs. In this field, list your website or phone number (if you will like to receive phone calls).
  2. Price: In the Price field, enter a price that represent the lowest priced service you do.
  3. Service: Allows you to add up to 6 services with prices. Ensure the service title is clear and concise and prices are a true reflection of your offerings.  
  4. Tags: Add up to 10 tags that represent your business or services, users can find your service by typing tags in search bar.
  5. Portfolio: Add up to 6 images. Be sure to only use images and other portfolio items that you created or which you have full copyright to.

 

STEP 3: Promote A Service

Make your service stand out:

Sponsored Listing: Have your service appear on Etained homepage listing. £25 for 7 days

Featured Listing: Have your service appear at the top of your sub category for 3, 7 and 14 days for fixed prices.

If you select either sponsored or featured listing once you click ‘Promote my service’ you would be directed into a payment page which would prompt you to enter details for payment.

 

Search Services:

User’s can search for services on Etained.com by following methods:

  • Search Bar: User’s can search for services via typing what they are looking for in the search bar. User’s can search by entering business/freelance name, categories, services and tags associated to services.
  • Categories: User’s can search for services via selecting categories or subcategories. This will give the user the services within that category or sub-categories
  • Find a service button: User’s can click the ‘find a service’ button which will list all the services on Etained.com. User’s can then use the refine option to filter out services in order to find the one that fits their needs.
